Coming Soon – CY23 Model Materials

In May, CMS expects to release the Contract Year (CY) 2023 model materials. These will be posted on the CMS site, CMS Marketing Models, and will include:

  • Annual Notice of Change (ANOC)
  • Evidence of Coverage (EOC)
  • ANOC and EOC standardized model instructions
  • Provider Directory

Also expected to be released in May are the CY23 Part D materials. These documents are posted on the CMS site, CMS Part D Materials, and will include:

  • Part D Explanation of Benefits
  • Formularies
  • Pharmacy Directory
  • Transition Letter
  • LIS Rider and Premium Summary

ANOC and EOC

CODY® will review the published documents closely and provide a summary of the changes to the ANOC and EOC. All plans should also review the models closely once posted for any changes or updates. In addition to the documents listed above, historically, the following have also been published with the models:

  • Instructions for Hospice Benefit Component of the Value-based Insurance Design (VBID) and necessary changes for the EOC and ANOC for plan participating in this benefit
  • Excluded Provider Letter
  • Notice of Formulary Change
  • Prescription Transfer
  • Transition Letter
  • Member Request for Refusal

Keep in mind that CMS has released corrections and updates to the models as late as July in past years.

As a reminder, the Medicare Communications and Marketing Guidelines (MCMG) were updated earlier in 2022 with significant changes. ICYMI—see CODY® Insights - MCMG Updates and stay tuned for more information.
